On-Line GIS Maps and Files
The links posted were selected because they offer free downloads of maps landscape managers. The files are often "zipped" and will require "unzipping" using either Winzip or WinRAR software. you can download free trial versions of these compiling programs for limited use. Some of the files will not be in the traditional shapefile (.shp) file format and will require converting using ArcCatalog or ArcTools. To make matters more complicated, the files are not likely to be in the same projection as the one you require, and may not be projected at all. You can try resolving tese problems using the instructions(make this an active link to the "instructions" page) previous students have written.
