GPS Instructions
This instruction page addresses common tasks most often encountered by those using Trimble GPS units equipped with ArcPad software in the office or in the field. Most instructions located here were written in simple language by students from David Berle's GIS/GPS courses . You will find listed here many features that apply specifically to Trimble GeoExplorer XM or XH GPS models. For those using another make or model GPS unit, such as the Trimble Juno, that are running ArcpPad will find instuction on this page useful as well. Please note that these instructions are specific to Windows Mobile, ArcPad 7.1.1 (older versions are ok), Microsoft ActiveSync and Pathfinder Office software. It is recommended that you download Microsoft ActiveSync (free!) if you intent to transfer files between your desktop and the GPS unit yourself.
